The client’s existing AWS connectivity design lacked the high-availability and seamless network integration required for the EdgeConnect virtual nodes (EC-Vs), resulting in constraints on secure and efficient communication between tenants and remote offices. These limitations were impeding business transformation initiatives, particularly the migration of critical applications to AWS. To overcome these challenges, a robust and scalable network architecture was needed—one that incorporated built-in redundancy and advanced integration. The solution aimed to optimize traffic management, ensure reliable performance, and deliver a resilient foundation capable of supporting evolving business requirements and future growth.
Solution Overview:
Faced with limited internal resources and expertise, the client engaged Wired360 to lead the re-architecture of their AWS network design. Wired360 collaborated closely with the client’s IT team to thoroughly assess the existing environment and develop a tailored solution. This approach included evaluating the current network topology, designing and deploying two High Availability EdgeConnect Virtual Nodes (HA EC-Vs) within AWS, and planning all necessary AWS resources—such as VPCs, subnets, routing tables, and security groups. The deployment featured the configuration of AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) for BGP integration, implementation of HA EC-Vs in an Active-Active redundant setup, and comprehensive validation of connectivity across management and WAN interfaces for both inbound and outbound traffic.
Outcome:
The project delivered a robust, high-availability network architecture for the client’s AWS tenants, enabling secure and reliable connectivity between remote offices and cloud resources. By implementing active-active redundancy and seamless integration, the deployment optimized traffic management and significantly improved network performance. As a result, the client was able to confidently migrate applications to AWS, accelerating business transformation initiatives and ensuring a superior user experience.
